In addition to the obvious; as a well-zeroed rifle, warm clothes, something comfortable to sit on and not least the coffee thermos, safety is something that must always be a priority. Stay in your high seat, listen carefully to the hunt leader's review - and do not be afraid to ask questions if you are unsure about, for example, shooting directions, be aware of where the bullet will hit the ground, assignment, radio channel or something else that you think about.
Take your time if a chance of a shot shows up. Keep in mind that it's up to you if or when the shot goes, so try not to put too much pressure on yourself that you have to shoot.
Becoming a good hunter means constant learning. Just being outside provides insights and knowledge that you will benefit from forever. If you are a new hunter, for example, there is a special, and sometimes nervous, moment when you drop your first game - and afterwards another awaits. Taking care of the animal, gutting and later skinning, for you this might be a new thing and it can therefore be a good idea to enlist the help of a more experienced hunter, so that you learn right from the start.
Keep an eye on hunting licenses, weapon licenses and other documentation - and absolutely do not forget toilet paper!
After the hunt is over, it is always appreciated when you offer the surroundings the superior taste of moose meat - and at the same time you spread the good word about hunting.
