NORMA Ballistics™ is the perfect device to help you shoot more accurately whether you are out hunting or shooting at a range. With a complex 3DOF (Degrees of Freedom) drag model, taking into account weather conditions, shot angle and barrel length, you can easily project the bullet trajectory and make sure you hit right on target every time. But do you have to be an advanced shooter or ballistic expert using this calculator? No, we made it simple to use and easy to operate in the field no matter if you are a beginner or advanced shooter. The Norma Ballistic app allows you to customize your own projectiles or utilize the always-updated extensive library of Norma bullets to calculate the bullet trajectory up to 2000 meters (2200 yards).
The app connects to Norma’s extensive database of projectiles with a wide range of calibers, bullet weights and designs for all purposes. Along with all the necessary bullet data comes reloading data for all Norma projectiles together with Norma’s range of premium powder.
The calculator is available as a mobile app as well as on a desktop and can be operated both online and offline.
NORMA Ballistics™ is compliant with Kestrel’s Bluetooth weather device, providing extreme accuracy at the range or in the field. Wind speed, direction, temperature and more, no matter where you are, are all taken care of directly in the calculator. This allows the trajectory results to be extremely accurate, shot after shot. Which is especially important when shooting at long range and brings invaluable convenience when using it in the field.
NORMA Ballistics™ effectively visualizes shot trajectories up to 2000m (2200 yards) covering the majority of needs in long range shooting. Given standard shooting parameters such as bullet weight, BC, velocity, shot angle and weather conditions, the program will present a visual graph of the bullet flight path showing drop, velocity and energy along the way. This can be useful when comparing cartridges and loads as well as in the field or on the range when you need to accurately project the path of your bullet.
Since we know that there are a lot of passionate hand loaders and shooters out there, we included a useful function to compare multiple projectiles. With minimum effort you can quickly create your own relevant portfolio of comparable products to quickly understand which projectile suits you the best.
Shooting ranges and the outdoors many times lack online capabilities for good reasons. Therefore, we have made sure you can use NORMA Ballistics™ even when you are offline.
Factory loaded cartridges for the civilian market most often complies with CIP or SAAMI standards which means that the ballistic data coming with the box might differ slightly to your own reality. One important factor is the length of the barrel, which directly affects velocity of the projectile. A shorter barrel than standard CIP length barrel will affect the velocity negatively and consequently change the bullet trajectory. NORMA Ballistics™ considers this parameter and calculates the change in velocity due to your barrel length providing a more accurate result.
Adjust according to the shot angle to get results that are more accurate. Not many programs on the market consider this parameter. However, in real life, this factor becomes highly important when shooting at a target above or below yourself. Especially if angles are acute or if you are shooting at long distances.
NORMA Ballistics™ also includes a comprehensive library of all Norma projectiles together with loading data if you want to reload at home. This service comes free of charge and covers all hunting and Match projectiles in Norma’s vast assortment of center fire rifle bullets.
NORMA Ballistics™ operates on a complex G1/G7 drag model to build a trajectory simulation that takes into account everything from projectile performance to weather conditions, shot angle, barrel length and load. Calculate your target trajectory in a 3-dimensional plane and visualize it via a trajectory graph or through a simulated scope view.
You can choose to view your results of the calculations through a 2-dimensional trajectory graph or a simulated scope view, which enables you to make quick adjustments for projected bullet drop and wind drift. This is especially useful in a real hunting situation where you know the distance to your target and know what distance you sighted your gun. You get an instant visual projection where to place your cross hair in order to hit right on target.
