Norma TIPSTRIKE

Norma TIPSTRIKE

TIPSTRIKE™ is developed for stopping power, combined with a penetration deep enough to reach the vital organs of the game. The polymer tip assures the expansion and gives a devastating shock effect due to the construction of the bullet jacket. To maintain a high retention weight, the jacket is reinforced with a mechanical lock, thus making TIPSTRIKE an outstanding bullet for driven hunts and other forms of hunting where an immediate stop is crucial.

  • Polymer tip for improved ballistics.
  • The insertion of the tip gives a slight delay of the expansion to enhance penetration.
  • Devastating shock effect through a tapered and quick opened front part of the jacket.
  • Penetration secured through a strong and straight rear part of the jacket combined
with a internal mechanical lead lock.

TIPSTRIKE™ is a flat-base tipped projectile great for medium and large game. The excellent penetration achieved by controlled expansion helps ensure game is harvested quickly, ethically and effectively with well-placed shots.

Norma’s Dedicated Hunting™ Line features dozens of bullet/caliber combinations that were engineered with hunters in mind. Today’s technology is a blessing for hunters of all types—and Norma continues to lead the way by combining science, hunting experience and a passion to succeed to continue to move the product line and brand forward.

Expansion

The gelantine block (35cm) shows the impact of the TIPSTRIKE entering from the left at 800 m/s. The bullet is designed to release its energy powerfully on impact. It gives a strong shock effect on the game and with this high energy release, the speed of the bullet drops quickly. The mechanical lead lock makes sure the bullet has the highest retained weight possible, which in its turn delivers an excellent penetration.

Both bullets above are caliber .30-06 and have reached their target at 800 m/s. The bullet to the left was shot in ballistic gelantine at a Norma test shoot. The bullet to the right was shot in a real hunting situation and was retained from a wild boar. On both occasions, the mechanical lead lock fulfilled its purpose and contributed to the highest possible residual weight.
