TIPSTRIKE™ is a flat-base tipped projectile great for medium and large game. The excellent penetration achieved by controlled expansion helps ensure game is harvested quickly, ethically and effectively with well-placed shots.

Expansion

The gelantine block (35cm) shows the impact of the TIPSTRIKE entering from the left at 800 m/s. The bullet is designed to release its energy powerfully on impact. It gives a strong shock effect on the game and with this high energy release, the speed of the bullet drops quickly. The mechanical lead lock makes sure the bullet has the highest retained weight possible, which in its turn delivers an excellent penetration.

Both bullets above are caliber .30-06 and have reached their target at 800 m/s. The bullet to the left was shot in ballistic gelantine at a Norma test shoot. The bullet to the right was shot in a real hunting situation and was retained from a wild boar. On both occasions, the mechanical lead lock fulfilled its purpose and contributed to the highest possible residual weight.
